Squid Overlords combines surf-inspired textures, progressive rock exploration, heavy grooves, and energetic live musicianship into a unique instrumental and vocal-driven sound. We combine traditional surf music sounds like reverb-drenched guitar and driving rhythms with progressive backbeats and exploratory chord progressions. We show our respect for Dick Dale and other early surf music pioneers by taking the instrumental guitar music they created into the 21st century, dusted with influences from the interim decades. We are familiar yet unpredictable, tasty yet experimental, complex yet satisfying. You may want to dance, you may want to listen, but you can't ignore Squid Overlords.
